Lenna & Mihkel Raud

For 3 days in a row, Lenna was on a mini-tour with Mihkel Raud. They wanted to present the songs from their 2 CDs (Lenna Lenna and Mr. Lawrence Swing) together on one stage. They performed 3 times – on October 24th in Tartu and on October 25th and 26th in Tallinn. Before the tour and just after Lenna’s return from Afghanistan they had got invited to a morning TV show in ETV – Terevisioon, where they gave an interview concerning their upcoming concerts. You can watch this video HERE.
As you can notice in the video, Lenna had changed her hair colour to “strawberry blonde”.  What was the reason? I came back from Afghanistan and I decided I needed a change. The person who adviced Lenna about the choice of the hair colour was her hairdresser, Reemer Piiroja. I had this hair colour in summer and I decided to have it again. But she won’t keep it forever. In a few weeks she will come back to blonde (today we know that her hair are already blonde again). I don’t want to colour my hair dark anymore. I think I’m going to stay with blonde. – said Lenna after being asked if she would show up with dark hair again someday.
Now, when the tour is over, you can view the photos from Tallinn’s concert on October 25th – HERE and HERE. After seeing them we decided to ask Lenna’s manager, Alo, why did Robert Vaigla not perform with Lenna on tour and why didn’t he go with the band to Afghanistan. This is Alo’s answer we got:

Hei
Unfortunately Robi left the bänd. It’s a bad news. Good news is that new guitarist will be Mihkel Raud.
Best regards,
Alo

That’s a big change in Lenna’s band again. Let us remind you, that some time ago Mihkel Masso and Martin Laksberg left the band also and Robert Vaigla and Tõnis Kivisild took their place. That’s really sad to get to know about Robi’s leave, but in the same time we should look optimistically in the future – let’s hope that Lenna’s co-operation with such a great guitarist as Mihkel Raud will be long lasting, fruitful and creative. Good luck!

Funeral

Recently, Lenna was a special guest on a very sad ceremony. On October 22nd, she attended a funeral of an Estonian corporal Agris Hutrof, who died on October 15th 2011 in Afghanistan during NATO operation. He was a part of ESTCOY12 unit quartering in Wahid, the same one which was visited by Lenna and her band a few days before. He was one of the spectators sitting among the audience on Lenna’s concert. The decision to fight with a gun always requires courage, bravery and an absolute obedience of orders. Corporal Agris Hutrof understood it fully. -said Gen. Laaneots during the ceremony. He was an model soldier and a comrade always ready to help his fellows. The president of the Republic of Estonia, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, was also present at the funeral and he made a speech devoted to corporal Hutrof. Corporal Agris Hutrof fell for Estonia. Estonia takes care of the world’s safety. Estonia wants to believe in us, her citizens, and wants us to be ready to come to rescue her, when the proper day arrives. The Corporal Hutrof fought for his and our country’s security, in the widest meaning of that term. He fought so each one of us could live peacefully without the fear of past horrors’ repetition. – these sentences were the beginning of president’s speech. Lenna had been looking at the whole ceremony from the side and at the end she came up with her guitarist, Kiur Aarma, and a cellist, Kaido Kelder and they played a well-known Estonian song Tõuse üles ja läheme ära (Rise and let’s leave) . You can view the short report from the funeral HERE and a few photos HERE.
